Ruth Friend Ruth is an experienced facilitator in training teachers in the Kodály approach to music education. Her more than 35 years of broad teaching experience and expertise encompasses classroom, instrumental, choral and music and movement programs from Kindergarten to University.

Ruth’s first publication, ‘Put the Beat in ya Feet’ for flute, aimed at developing independent, creative young musicians. She has since co-authored the successful ‘Take Note Music’ series of books and resources for the music classroom.

Ruth is currently Assistant Head of Music at St Kevin’s College, Toorak. As a lecturer in Kodály methodology, Ruth passionately supports music teachers and encourages quality music education in Australia.

Elizabeth Tindall Elizabeth’s passion for Kodály music education has been developed through her experience as a classroom music teacher in ELC, primary and secondary contexts. She is a skilled choral conductor and singing teacher, having worked with voices of all ages. Elizabeth brings her strong pedagogical knowledge of the singing voice into both choral and classroom contexts, encouraging healthy and joyful singing at all ages.

Elizabeth is currently the Head of Rathfarnham Music at Loreto Mandeville Hall Toorak, where she has been a member of staff for 10 years. Her tertiary studies commenced with a Bachelor of Music (Classical Voice) and a Bachelor of Arts (History), before she wrote her Bachelor of Music Honours thesis. She holds a Master of Music Performance-Teaching degree (Classical Voice and Choral Conducting) and a Graduate Diploma in Education.
