2020 Jean Heriot Professional Learning Bursary

Applications are invited for the 2020 Jean Heriot Professional Learning Bursary.

Members are encouraged to apply for the bursary of $700 to undertake professional learning of their choice. The kinds of activities members might consider are Victorian Kodály Teacher Training Courses, the Cuskelly College of Music Summer Program, international training programs, curriculum initiatives, mentoring, conducting courses etc. Applications will be assessed on merit by the committee and should address the following criteria:

  • describe the professional development activity (provide full details such as cost, location, budget, if it is an activity not organised by KMEIA);
  • what you hope to learn from the professional development;
  • how you anticipate the professional development will benefit your teaching; and
  • why it is important KMEIA Vic. supports your participation in this activity.

Successful applicants will be required to submit a report to the committee detailing what they have learnt and how it has influenced their teaching 3 months after completing the professional development. They will also be required to contribute a reflection of their experience in the form of a short article to the Kodály News.
